FACIALS

 Facials are definitely one of my favorite services to provide.  I strive to custom tailor each service to your individual skins needs via assessment/observation and as well, by applying top notch CANADIAN products.  I even have tips and tricks to help you save and make the best skin care purchases to give you the best bang for your buck! I have no gimmicks ( IE: A certain flavor mask for each season) as that, to me, is useless. We all crave excellent skin and I can help you get you on your way!

Microneedling

Micro-needling is a minimally invasive treatment with very small needles that mechanically perforate the outer layers of the skin. This creates a controlled injury underneath the skins surface, thereby inducing the body to respond by producing more collagen in the treated areas. The skin plumps and thickens in response to the stimulus. Micro-needling has been clinically proven to reduce the appearance of scars (burns, acneac, surgical etc), stretch marks, hyperpigmentation and fine lines/wrinkles. This treatment is particularly good at greatly reducing deep wrinkles above the lip!

Microneedling is minimally invasive, requiring no downtime.

It’s considered safe for most people who are in overall good health.

The procedure isn’t safe for people who use certain acne medications (Accutane) or for women who are pregnant.

You’ll experience minor redness and irritation for a few days after the procedure.

Unlike fractional laser therapy, Microneedling does not cause thermal (heat) damage to the skin. As a result, there is less redness, swelling, and downtime, and a minimal risk of side effects. This makes it a suitable treatment for all skin types and skin colors, and is an excellent choice for those patients who are seeking results without downtime.

The skin may be pink or red in appearance for 24-48 hours, much like a sunburn with some minor bleeding and very occasionally some mild bruising.

The skin may also feel warm, tight and itchy for a short while, I give you after care to help with this. Generally, the inflammatory reaction of the skin is overall usually short and fades significantly after a couple of days on average, depending on the skin color of the individual.

Patients with a more sensitive skin types or older patients may find it takes a little longer to recover fully.

PROCEDURE:

A numbing local anesthetic will first be applied and left on for 20-30 minutes. The skin is then cleansed with a natural cleanser. Bioactive agents such as hyaluronic acid (what is used in Juvéderm/Restylane), vitamin C serum, lightening agents or anti acne serums are then applied and microneedling begins, the depth of the needle is dependent on your own unique skin type and your goal for your treatment. The microneedling pen helps create channels to deliver these infusions into the dermal layers below the skin surface. After Microneedling, a mask is applied to help soothe and hydrate (this may be LED mask, sheet mask or a gel mask dependent on the session. You may appear quite pink/red immediately after the procedure that may last 1-3 days depending on what depth of the needle was used. The progressive healing process begins immediately. It is very important to not wear makeup for the following 12 hours after treatment and to clean all makeup brushes, glasses and cel phone (anything that is going near or on your face) as you do not want any bacteria in your open skin. Patients may witness a noticeable glow to their skin. More visible changes to the skin will develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results will continue to improve for several weeks after the treatment as collagen production continues.

Some patients may only require a single treatment, once per year, to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 2-3 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced hyperpigmentation, stretch marks or acne scars, it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 4-6 week intervals.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion treatments exfoliate the top layer of your skin, removing unwanted dead cells and debris. The best results come from using a powerful, specialized, medical office-strength microdermabrasion machine. The back and forth motion of the professional grade microdermabrasion tip removes dry, dead skin cells, lifting them off the stratum corneum. Clogged pore plugs are lifted from the pore openings as well. This dull and lusterless material is then vacuumed off of your skin, leaving you with a fresh, clean, bright and new complexion!

Medical grade microdermabrasion treatments also involve a powerful skin vacuuming and suctioning process which increases microcirculation in the skin. With regular treatments, the simultaneous motions of micro-abrasion and micro-circulatory stimulation can aid in rebuilding collagen in the skin.

Even therapeutic treatments should be enjoyable, so in my treatment room, I wrap your freshly treated skin in a soft warm aromatherapy towel, to sooth and hydrate your fresh, radiant, newly exposed skin layers. The result is skin that instantly feels and looks buffed to a bright and luminous glow. Your products and makeup go on smoothly and your skin looks great. Pretreating your skin with microdermabrasion allows me to more easily complete your extractions. The finishing facial and mask to calm and soothe the skin. BB Glow

Achieve a glowing, radiant, even skin tone complexion!!

BB Glow is one of the latest anti-aging beauty innovations! It's a semi-permanent foundation for your face. Hydrafacial

Dermaplanning

Using a sterilized scalpel and a delicate touch, the provider simply abrades the surface of the skin using light feathering strokes. This is a great treatment to offer to patients who are pregnant or nursing who want a deep exfoliation, but are not allowed to use peeling agents on their skin because of the risk that the chemicals will be absorbed into the blood stream, and may be transferred to the fetus/child. This is also a great choice for those with darker skin tones in which chemical peels is not a good choice for risk of hyperpigmentation. It is also a first choice for patients who have excess vellus hair on the skin (peach fuzz). This hair often causes a buildup of dirt and oils in the follicles, so removing the hair gives the patient healthier looking skin. Although merely an old wives’ tale, many patients are often concerned that the hair will grow back heavier and darker after dermaplaning. This is not the case. As long as the hair is superficial vellus hair, it will grow back at the same rate and texture as before the treatment.*This service is not recommended for those with course facial hair or those that have >40% areas of raised surface area (ie: many raised moles)

No time? This is a great "lunch time" facial. Don't let the word "peel" scare you!
